Having inhabited diverse workplaces—from a Menlo Park garage to a Danish farmhouse and a New York city block—Google has continually redefined what makes a great workplace. Now, for the first time designing offices from scratch, the Google Campus master plan reimagines four existing sites with flexible, lightweight structures under large translucent canopies that bring in light and air while controlling climate. Landscaped paths, cafes, and bike routes weave through the site, blurring the boundary between building and nature. Beyond office space, the plan connects to the local community through retail opportunities and environmental restoration, creating workplaces that serve both Google and the city.
